The Lucky Show at Leanna Lin's Wonderland

This past saturday marked 1 month of my shop's soft opening! What a perfect way to celebrate by having my 1st art opening in conjunction with our local 2nd Saturdays NELAart walk! My good friends of Spicy Brown presented *The Lucky Show* sending good luck to my shop. I was so excited to finally meet the talented artists Kazuko Shinoka & Sachiho Hino.

Before 6pm Spicy Brown fans starting coming into the shop for the gift bags they handed out to the first 25 people! It was filled with tees, coin purses, Lucky Charm boxes, cute buttons + more! Yummy food trucks parked here also: Don Chow Tacos and Lake Street Creamery!

ALSO, don't miss out on the raffle for the large Kokeshi by Sachiho Hino ~ $1 per ticket or get a ticket for every $20 you spend at Leanna Lin's Wonderland. Raffle will end when *The Lucky Show* ends on Oct. 31st ~ Good luck! Drawing will be Nov. 1st

The Lucky Show is on view through Oct. 31st @ Leanna Lin's Wonderland

my shop

Leanna Lin's Wonderland is NOW OPEN!

I've been dreaming of the perfect shop to showcase great design + art for a while now! Thinking and re-thinking of how this space will look ... AND THEN, all of a sudden ... things happen when you least expect it! The space next to my favorite Eagle Rock clothing boutique, Lily Simone, became available and was calling my name *-* With the help of my amazing family and friends (you know who you are :), we pulled it together in 2 months.

Leanna Lin’s WONDERLAND is a playful jewelry studio/shop/art gallery inspired by modern + retro designs, where you can use your imagination to create your own beaded jewelry!

I now also have the perfect place for me to work on my own jewelry collections and showcase them *-*

I ♥ Axel Honey!

I've been following Axel Honey for several years now!
I first met Melissa Contreras of Axel Honey at a Bazaar Bizarre event that we both did in 2006. I custom ordered 2 figurines & have been a collector since! (check out my cuties below)

Axel Honey has shown her work in several galleries + boutiques over the years & will be featuring the above dog-inspired art in a group show called "A Mute of Hounds". This show will benefit the Downtown Dog Rescue. Dog Lover!? I am *-* Check out her work + several other talented artists at the OPENING: next saturday, June 12th, 6-9pm
Gallery Meltdown / 7522 West Sunset Blvd / LA, CA 90046 / June 12-26th

Melissa is an amazing talent of many mediums: art, sculpture & her new passion ~ jewelry inspired by her illustrations! Whenever I see her work, it makes me smile :) All the fun colors, whimsy + cute animals! You can buy Axel Honey jewelry on Etsy and Accents in Santa Monica (where she learned her craft from owner Steven Hanna).

But wait ... there's more on this super sweet artist! She's illustrated a children's book, Butterfly's Circus and is featured new book, Sweet Illustration (on my wish list)! Also, check out her cute tee collaboration with Poketo *-*

A retro Palm Springs

* I love the vintage vases in the lobby at the Parker Palm Springs *

Palm Springs is only a few hours from L.A. and a great weekend getaway. Cookie cutter streets with mid-century modern homes + pools + mountain desert backdrops ... feels surreal!

This past weekend, I tagged along w/my husband & friends for the Coachella weekend music festival. We rented a mid-century modern home through Vacation Palm Springs, where you can live the retro-life! There's tons to do in Palm Springs ~ spas, outdoor adventures, architecture tours, vintage shopping, pool parties, museums, the famous Aerial Tramway + more!

Here are my favorite things to do in Palm Springs!
*start your day off with a jolt at Koffi *-*
*vintage shop along North Palm Canyon Drive
*patio lunch Norma's in Parker Palm Springs, designed by Jonthan Adler
(then wander the garden)
*yummy organic breakfast at Cheeky's
*stay at The Horizon Hotel, designed by architect William F. Cody
*stay at the hip Orbit In
*hang w/hipsters at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club
*Modernism Week in February, every President's Day weekend
*take the PS Modern Tour or buy a map and take a self tour

Spring in Wonderland

I was walking along the cute streets of Eagle Rock yesterday and came across this blooming bed of flowers at the edge of the sidewalk.
How nice of home owners to make their sidewalks pretty to look at too *-*
HAPPY SPRING TO YOU ALL!
