Small Business Saturday

On Saturday, Nov. 26th, 2011, Eagle Rock celebrated our 1st Small Business Saturday shopping event! All the shopping boutiques on Eagle Rock Blvd. participated and we also had a few extra perks (like a lounge area hosted by Wildwood Ovens) and Pie 'N Burger truck parked on the block! At Leanna Lin's Wonderland, I wanted to host a trunk show featuring 2 designers that have supported me since the beginning, Spicy Brown + Tookata People. We also gave had special goodies for our customers: JAM Vegan Bakery cookies + gifts with purchases (my logo Baggu bag was one of them)! It was a successful event and we're excited to do it next year and even expand it! Check out the follow up article on our local Patch.

A Wonderland Thanksgiving Week

We have a lot in store for you this Thanksgiving week! Below is the breakdown :)

Wednesday, 11/23 (12-3pm): JAM Vegan Bakery will be at my shop again for a Giving Thanks Pop-Up! (see below for more details)

Thursday, 11/24: Closed for Thanksgiving. Enjoy time with loved ones and fill yourself with yummy food.

Friday, 11/25: BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!! Everything in the shop will be 20% off

On November 26th (12-9pm), the shops on Eagle Rock Blvd. present their 1st Holiday EAGLE ROCK BLVD. BLOCK PARTY in conjunction with Small Business Saturday. The 2nd annual Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. SHOP SMALL and make a huge impact on the economy!

Join the small shops on Eagle Rock Blvd. (between Colorado Blvd. & Fair Park Ave.) and start your holiday shopping while having fun! Each shop will be hosting their own festivities with drinks, treats, discounts, raffles, gifts with purchases, designer trunk shows, free nail wrap, live music performances, pajama story hour lounge area and more!

PARTICIPATING SHOPS: Owl Talk, Green Bean, Kumquat, Media Noche, Double O Salon, The Snivling Sibbling, Leanna Lin's Wonderland, Letters From LA, Wildwood, Lady, Read Books and Toros Pottery. Check out our event page to see more on what each shop is offering!

Lounge area will be hosted by WILDWOOD! So put down your bags, hang out, meet other locals and grab some complimentary wood-fired oven appetizers and Brazilian BBQ! Also take your picture at the photo booth hosted by YelpLA. AND ... down the street, grab a bite at Pie 'n Burger truck! They'll be parked in front of Lady/Read Books/Toro's Pottery from 6-9pm!

Spicy does Wonderland

I love Spicy Brown and their artists that create super-kawaii characters on tees & accessories! Spicy Brown presented my 1st art show at Leanna Lin's Wonderland called The Lucky Show, which was a huge hit! I asked them to create something to help celebrate my 1 year anniversary! Their artist, Sachiho Hino Lee did this amazing art piece of Me as a kokeshi character w/star necklaces (of course) & my toy poodle Richy with his mohawk in Wonderland! Spicy Brown's Wonderland stuff is available only at Leanna Lin's Wonderland. We have women's + girls tees, tote and buttons in stock now! Also, check out the behind the scenes photos from our photo shoot!

Also, see Sachiho's art piece in the WONDERLAND show presented by Crowded Teeth + Friends from August 3 - September 3, 2011. The opening event is this Saturday, August 13 (6-10pm)

I love Spicy Brown and their artists, Kazuko Shinoka and Sachiho Hino! I was so excited when they agreed to do my first art opening, The Lucky Show *-* Spicy Brown donated the Kokeshi Triad piece by Sachiho Hino for a raffle. a *Funky* event

We just had another fun event during Second Saturdays NELA art walk at my shop ~ Mr. Funky trunk show + book signing! Designer, Narumi Ogawa, brought her cute amigurumi animals and super-cool accessories. I snagged a water bear water bottle holder & nubby hat *-* I have one of her original pink bears in my collection. Narumi was here to sign copies of her best-selling book *Super Crochet Wonderful* We also had special appearances from Lil Rae Cakes (delightful cake balls) and Lomo Arigato (Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine).

Grand Opening Weekend Event

I just had a fun-filled Grand Opening Weekend event at my new shop Leanna Lin's Wonderland! Yipeee! Yummy food trucks were here for lunch ~ White Rabbit on saturday and Papas Tapas on sunday ... what a treat!
