Love & Other Fairy Tales jewelry

Last October, Mekanikku came into my shop and showed me her hand painted dolls inspired by city girls (primary Tokyo). Artist, Liane Shih, haw tons of enthusiasm and her dolls immediately found a home at Wonderland! We talked about her 1st solo show and I was excited about doing a Leanna Lin Jewelry collection inspired by her work for *Love & Other Fairy Tales* I created pieces following Mekanikku's color palate of black, cherry red, bubble gum pink + turquoise (fun and bright). Excited to break into my collection of beads + charms: vintage Lucite, vintage glass, hearts + Harajuku charms I got from my Tokyo trip last march ... I started to play! I had the best time creating "Oh My Deer", which is a *one-of-a-kind* piece using Mekanikku's handmade stuffed deer head. See photos below + check out our work at my shop until March 27th, 2011.

Creating *Love & Other Fairy Tales* Valentine's

Valentine's weekend at Leanna Lin's Wonderland was fun as I held my 1st creative workshop (other than my usual beaded jewelry ones)!

On Sunday, February 13th, we continued celebrating Mekanikku's *Love & Other Fairy Tales* opening with Valentine card making! Mekanikku art, Leanna Lin's Wonderland graphics, cute sticker + markers to elaborate were spread out on the tables, while kids & adults spent quality time together & got creative! Artists, Liane Shih + Melody Hansen, were there to work with us as we wore Mekanikku crowns & ate heart shaped shortbread jam filled cookies by Maile's Fine Pastries (new local fav) See more photos here!

Love & Other Fairy Tales by Mekanikku

Last Saturday, February 12th, was our first Valentine's themed art opening event! Styled by Wilmarose Orlanes of Lovely Jubilee ... Leanna Lin's Wonderland was transformed into *Love at Wonderland* with black/red/pink adorned the shop. Chocolate cake pops from Maile's Fine Pastries dessert bar were washed down with Swork coffee + hot chocolate, while Fry Smith served up fries with crazy toppings!

For this second saturdays NELAart gallery night, we celebrated Mekanikku's 1st solo show! Artist, Liane Shih, was inspired by her favorite fairy tale characters with a Harajuku twist. She created original paintings, hand painted doll couples + life size dolls for a tea party installation! Kokeshi versions of her dolls were created by Melody Hansen + I did a Leanna Lin Jewelry collection inspired by the show! Also, check out the *one-of-a-kind* piece I created using Mekanikku's handmade stuffed deer.
